Hi, Do you mean we will make the softwares or buy a web url and make our own designs for the website and include some softwares? We can start something as you said and once pavan, obul finish their MS we can plan a company. What say guys?

Good decision rags...And Gautham, I guess Raghu intends to appeal for an initiative to write small applications or softwares and then ultimately proceed to write bigger ones in order to have a good base for the startup company.Raghu, correct me if I am wrong. And l am ready for a group chat anytime after my office. I prefer post 11:00 PMI am willing to contribute in every way I can.My suggestion is to try and assign ourselves the roles suitable for us considering the present area of work/study stream, individual talents and skills. For example, I can be part of exterior designing (considering photoshop, flash skills), system admin and dba (i.e., if we r going to have a database at a later time), Raghu, Naidu can be interior designing and coding, Gautham can be manager and coder. I dont know where Pavan would fit in..probably documentation (considering his 3-essays-in-1-week skill). Note that I have just roughly suggested a sketch for the scenario we are aiming at.As of now, I dont have any ideas for implementing as s/w or applications.I second Gautham...its true that it would be better to gain sound knowledge until the abroad guys finish their studies so that our experience counts in the meanwhile and probably our payscale reaches some descent figures.Hopefully by that time, we will be financially stable and can afford the cost incurring for the startup company.

thanks for the inputs satti...And regd. gau's query: i didn't mean to start a company right now.... and we are not goin to buy a web url unless everyone is interested (it won't cost much though). Lets concentrate on small small things now.
@ALLWe'll definitely start a company once our MS guys are bak to India. I don't mind even if it is doomed but i want to see ourselves as a enterpreneurs.Till then i feel that we shud connect wid present tech and if we think on providing solutions for small small things then tht wud b helpful to us in future. Who knows we may produce a path brking application. itz too optimistic but as we know probability of anything never equals to zero.
Satti n myself are busy wid our jobs & Gau will b busy wid his MBA. So pa1 & Obul shud take part actively. I'll dedicate myself to this on weekends.
If we share ideas to solve small small problems tht we encounter in our daily life then tht wud b gr8. May be this s/w uploading thing might not work but sharing our ideas will definitely work.
So once everybody are settled then we'll go to a VC (may be vishnu varshney) or we can set up the company ourselves. wht say guys???

And apart from small small things, we can also have a look at sites like code project (I am not sure about the name) where we can have a look at the current requirements (present situation problems) and the cutting edge technologies which could be useful and the ones which we might need to be familiar with. Once we start off wid such projects, working together, probably we might find the path to our destiny by discovering a potential problem which can change our lives.Hope to see more input guys....waiting for the next reply,"Lets get started like Hell" is what all I can yell(now tht sounds like a potential caption to a potential company by a potential poet :P)

anna. satti... destiny enti? change our lives enti?? nenu edo timepass ki chestunnam anukunna... this is what i propose: try to identify problems that people face these days.. related to computers... like better interfaces, some cool tools, some features that people want in a software, shell scripts that automate some tasks, a better ubuntu theme etc... something that can be solved using technology(i mean coding) and lets try to implement them... small things that should not take more than a month to do... within a few months, we will have a good repository of handy applications... we can upload the projects on sourceforge.net and maintain a blog where we can describe the tools and give a link of them... will be a good way to keep a tab on whoz doing what... or we can get a domain like raghu says and have our own website... that will be even better... I am doing some cool assignments this semester for a course called advanced interactive systems.. i'll put those up after making them like a complete package... am also learning about building firefox extensions... so if anyone has an good idea for an extension, i'll be glad to implement it... after sometime, if we hit upon some nice idea, we can get together and work on it like satti says... btw, me and obul are the busy ones... raghu and satti aithe lite jobs... full freetime.. and gautham gadu busy entraa.. that ass will be having the time of his life doing MBA... :)

hehe...bhayapadaku pavan...edo chadavadaniki bagundi kada ani ala raasanu le.and regarding extensions for firefox, i guess i have one idea. roju maa office lo bypass proxy sites use chesthuntanu..but as u knw they have some limitations...like u cant attach files to ur mail with the exact names they have, some ajax based websites dont work..so my proposal is, to come up wid a mail extension for firefox, which can let us comfortably browse our mails, send and download attachments (and if possible chatting too) even when behind a firewall. now dont laugh at me if the idea is tht bad. and regarding ubuntu theme, i will try and experiment wid photoshop and gimp...to come up wid some designs. shell scripting for automating tasks...as such?? can u mention a few examples?? and yeah, i agree tht my job is lite but then i need some input (and also some privacy frm my TL and HOD) in order to start working on something.
PS: orey raghu, y did u remove the email ids of kishore, dharma and tarak??

thanks to raghu for putting the topic to every one ...daiict lo unnapudoo alge anukunnam ..abey just think abt what we did in our first year for CRO revolutions ...we pulled out great things when we were kind of kids ...guys i want to start company NOW .. not some time after ... "after"never comes ...i have outlined my ideas in google doc ..i will give full details shortly ..but the core idea is like :start a Linux based company ...umm btw i am on the verge of pulling out a custom Linux for "computerscience students" ...well i got to go now ...will send out a detailed mail later ...but i need a "name" ..for the website ...an open source company for universities and colleges ...and one more name for a company which makes custom operating systemsand gives linux support for all kinds of people ...ok dude .. chalo gtg ...will put more details in doc when i get time ...all the best ...

as i promised, naidu here are my comments/suggestions on your doc...
Your idea revolves around the concept 'OS 4 everyone'. I liked the biz model very much.
Here instead of everyone having a custom OS, i go for a custom application. a proper ERP kinda application will solve everybody's prob.replace OS wid this application. we can have a incident problem control for all of them too.
We can develop this by using open softwares

you did put forth you ideas :D :Pactually I am working from the OS side concentrating on basicinfrastructure ...dheeraj (our junior at daiict, now at USC) is working on web apps ...the solution will be a hybrid tough ... depending on how much netaccess one has.right now our focus is not on writing softwarebut on utilizing the existing software and solve problems ...coz writing quality software needs lots of time and resources too ...(as you said)so it will be our long term goal ...please go ahead and add your comments and suggestions in the doc ...not in the main idea .. but in the comments section ...good going dude ...btw we can even make an OS for Lok Satta too :D
